Oh my gosh, what a beautiful day it was for a wedding at the de Seversky Mansion on Long Island! This beautiful estate is tucked away on the campus of NYIT and it is every bit as beautiful as pictured. White being my all-time favorite color (although I know it’s not technically a color!) I was drawn to the marble stairway and chandelier right outside the room where Jillian was getting ready. Although the lovely staff on hand thought I was crazy for requesting the chandelier be turned off, I assured Jillian that the yellow glow was not flattering for anyone, and the natural light flooded in through the skylight above creating the most gorgeous getting ready location!
I wanted to give Jillian & Zuka high-fives for requesting their ceremony be moved to the east lawn (usually it’s held on another part of the property just as pretty) mainly because their ceremony was at golden hour and the sun tucked itself behind the mansion just in time for Jillian to walk down the aisle. Not to mention I simply LOVE this wedding party photo on the great lawn!
Overall, I had such a great time capturing Jillian & Zuka’s elegant wedding day. I was blown away by the beauty of their venue and thoughtful details. Jillian looked STUNNING thanks to the fact that she teaches yoga for a living AND the magic of Shira Aaron on hand for hair & makeup! Plus, Noreen the florist was so sweet to let me use some blooms to style all the details…beautiful work!
