An Anniversary Session at Red Maple Vineyard

Jul 20, 2016

So you plan and plan and plan your wedding day. And then it downpours. Of course, the memories are still so special and rain only adds to your story. However, when the grounds of your venue are simply gorgeous, an anniversary session is a great way to capture those outdoor portraits that were off-limits the day of. This is Nicole & Blake’s story. They toured SO MANY venues before finally landing on Red Maple Vineyard in upstate New York for their wedding day in June of 2015 and could not wait for the big day.

I wasn’t the photographer for their wedding day, so I heard from Nicole in 2016 when she came up with the plan to play dress up on their one year anniversary… and I was instantly struck by their sweetness and determination to get those portraits they had dreamed of. So, with a mini anniversary cake, hair & makeup, and an exact replica of her bouquet, we spent their one year anniversary in the most beautiful weather and scenery.. we even cut the cake and took family portraits! It was like a wedding but without the rush so we really soaked up every second of it. Happy Anniversary Nicole & Blake! I was so honored to capture these special portraits for you. And, Blake being the absolute sweetest said to Nicole that she looked even more beautiful on this day in her dress than ever before… love them!

Had to include the sweetest photo above of Nicole, her mom and her grandmother… about 10 close family members played dress up as well and we captured the sweetest portraits of them all! Such special memories for the whole family… xx
